About Carol Hall - O.A.M ; F.C.B.A ; C.I.C.B
The Carolan School of Ballet is run by Carol Hall, who successfully auditioned for the Royal Ballet School in London at the age of eleven
and attended the Junior and Senior Schools for the next eight years, during which time she performed in many regular performances of the
Royal Ballet Company and the Opera Ballet at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. On completing her training she toured with the Sadler's Wells
Opera Ballet for three years.
Following her marriage to an Australian, Miss Hall emigrated to Australia. During her time in Sydney she performed with Ballet Australia for six years and gained her Licentiate in the Cecchetti Method with Honours. She subsequently moved to Adelaide and opened The Carolan School of Ballet in 1973. She obtained her Fellowship in 1980, was appointed an examiner in 1986 and was promoted to the top level of examiner in 2003 (being one of only four at this level in Australia at this time).
In 1992 Miss Hall became the first person to obtain the Enrico Cecchetti Diploma in South Australia, this being the highest qualification in the Cecchetti Method.
Internationally Miss Hall has represented Australia at all meetings of the Cecchetti International Classical Ballet which was formed to promote the Cecchetti Method of teaching throughout the world. Miss Hall is now an international examiner - a role that has seen her examining students in Korea, Malaysia, Manila, Taiwan, New Zealand and Thailand.
Miss Hall was elected to the position of Chairman of Cecchetti Ballet Australia in 2002 for a six year term, and has been re=elected every three years since.
Miss Hall was honoured to receive an O.A.M in the Queens Birthday Honours list in 2014 for her contribution to the Arts and the Community.
